closeThis was a roadway widening project to reconstruct Kernan Boulevard from a four-lane to a six-lane urban roadway between Atlantic Boulevard and Matthew Unger Drive and four lanes from Matthew Unger Drive to McCormick Road. The road has raised medians, curb and gutter, sidewalks, bike lanes, a 12-foot multi-use path on the eastside of the road and utility improvements.
The project was completed on May 1, 2020.
This was the last segment of Kernan Boulevard to be widened. It enhances pedestrian, bicyclist and motorist safety, reduces congestion, increases mobility, improves drainage and lighting.
